About Sharon Christie, Creator of Aromafloria

Sharon has been passionate about aromatherapy since 1967. She graduated from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy with a B.S. in Pharmacy and a minor in pharmacognosy - a science which focuses on the medicinal properties of plants and minerals. It was there she researched the folklore benefits of plants from the Amazon Rainforest. She had the opportunity to scientifically validate 85% of the claims. This was the start of her unique passion for combining ancient traditions with modern science. Both then and now, she believes "the plant kingdom provides some of the simplest, purest solutions to many of our everyday ailments".

Sharon honed her skills as a chemist while working with the R&D department of several major cosmetic companies.

Later in her career, Sharon established her own day spas. She developed spa treatments based on her expertise as an aromatherapist and herbalist. She also incorporated nutrition, exercise, massage and hydro-therapy into each client's care. As a therapist, she understood how beneficial the ancient healing arts were to a client's well-being. Creative, intuitive and ever-the-scientist, it was here that Sharon created her first aromatherapy products, the forerunners of the Aromafloria collection we know today.

In 1983, Sharon formed her own company, Scent-a-Vision, where she focused on developing state-of-the-art technology in scent delivery.

In 1985, Aromafloria was born. At its heart and soul is Sharon's core goal: "to help our consumers obtain balance of body, mind and spirit, while preserving the Earth and her resources." As a chemist, pharmacist, aromatherapist, herbalist (and yes, treehugger!), she brings her 360-degree perspective, her talent, and her deep commitment to well-being to all of Aromafloria's products and business practices.

Sharon has traveled all over the world, from Romania to Paraguay, researching botanicals, working with local growers, and expanding her knowledge of the healing properties of indigenous plants.

Sharon's Philosophy
Whether it's blending ancient healing arts with modern science, or discussing the integration of body mind and spirit, Sharon's approach to life and work is always holistic. With a keen insight about the interconnectedness of all of life, she views the path of wellness in this way:

As far as Sharon is concerned, you cannot talk about well-being without including Mother Earth as part of the conversation. Dedicated to healing our relationship with Nature, she champions the environment and eco-friendly practices at every opportunity.

Finally, Sharon is ardent about "preserving the past to secure a healthy future". Having studied how the ancients used aromas and herbs, she knows the ease and ability of Nature to restore us to wellness. Her training as a scientist allows her to easily integrate the best of modern technology into Aromafloria's products. The results of this combination - timeless solutions that promote well-being today and tomorrow.
